> Members discussed the SCRRSC sponsorship program and would like to offer this responsibility to a member who would like to take part in a portion of the club business. Scooter has agreed to send letters to all former sponsors asking for renewal.. You, as a volunteer would be responsible for getting new sponsorships and managing the program in the future. With as much work as there is keeping things going we would like to spread some around. If we do not get a volunteer, this program will be tabled. Although a good program, members present at the meeting felt that we as a club are fully capable of raising the funds necessary to run the club through our events and membership dues.

MARCH 14, 2008

Wednesday nights meeting was one of our largest in a long time, with nearly 30 people.  Thanks to all who came!!!  Everyone seemed to enjoy the vaccination presentation given by Dennis Hodgson of Fort Dodge Animal Health.  It was informative and fun as Fort Dodge furnished sub sandwiches, pop, chips and cookies.  Dennis also gave out several prizes including:  wormers, grain scoops, training flags and sweat scrapers.

A lot was accomplished at the general meeting:
1.  Mary Lou Johnson and Sue Hayes will continue to research a water filter for the cookshack.
With permission to purchase when they feel they have found the right one.  A cap of $300.00
    was set on the purchase.
2. The club has received it's new PA system and is awaiting the wireless clip-on-mic.  This should
all be up and running by our 1st event at SCRRSC arena in May.
3.  We voted to re-lock and key the arena as there are a number of unaccounted for keys out
and about.  The new policy for keys is:
Only paid members will be able to obtain a key.  there will be a $15.00 deposit.  At end
of each year a letter will be sent to all key holders, asking them to re-join or return the
key.  If all keys are accounted for and all key holders pay dues all will remain the same.
However if all keys are not accounted for the arena will again be re-locked and keyed.
4.  Ways were discussed on how to run events more efficiently for those in charge and also
trying to participate.  The new policy will be:
Participants will be required to send all paperwork:  entry form, liability release, and entire
entry fee to the club before their "spot" will be guaranteed.  The cost of lunch and arena
fees(if applicable) will be included in the entry fee.  In the event that the entrant does
not "show" the entry fee will be returned - minus the non-refundable deposit.
5.  The club voted and agreed to buy a locking file cabinet to be kept in the announcer's stand at
     $150.00 cap on the purchase.
6.  Shannon gave a summary of the Charlie Hanson Horsemanship Clinic held in February.
Saturday was designed for the beginner and Sunday for the more advanced.  Everyone had a
great time and the club cleared $210.00.
7.  Gene Arnold and new member Dave Hedley announce the upcoming Special Olympics Torch
Relay to take place tentatively May 1st.  Riders will relay the torch along Highway 28 from
Plains to Big Arm.  Many people signed up to ride.  This promises to be alot of fun for a great
     cause.
8.  Peggy Johnson has volunteered to be our "Cookie" :)  and manage the cookshack.  This is
     great news.  Thanks Bunches Peggy!!!!!!!
9.  We announced the upcoming Vet Day with DVM Marrinan on April 19th at Haven's Arena in
Trout Creek and also the next general meeting will take place may 3rd during the lunch break
of our 1st Triple Play Schooling Show, at our arena in Noxon.
